Engaging in Cybersecurity: OAS Cybersecurity Symposium 2023

It is with great pleasure and honor that Angus Smith, Manager of the Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Incident Response Team (TT-CSIRT), was invited to be a panelist at the OAS Cybersecurity Symposium 2023, held in the Bahamas. This prestigious event focused on Incident Response in the Caribbean and featured Smith among the esteemed company of three other CSIRT/CIRT heads from the English-speaking Caribbean.

The OAS Cybersecurity Symposium 2023 brought together cybersecurity professionals, government officials, and industry experts to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and best practices in cybersecurity. The event aimed to enhance regional cooperation and strengthen the collective ability to respond to cyber threats.

As a panelist, Angus Smith shared insights on the unique cybersecurity challenges faced by the Caribbean and the strategies TT-CSIRT employs to mitigate these threats. He highlighted the importance of having a robust incident response plan and the need for continuous collaboration among regional CSIRTs to improve overall cyber resilience.
