Our Cyber Security Tabletop Exercises (TTX)-Strengthening National Infrastructure Security
TT-CSIRT, in collaboration with the Organización de los Estados Americanos (OAS) and Protection Group International, successfully hosted a cybersecurity tabletop exercise (TTX) simulating a national-level cyber-attack. The primary goal of this exercise was to promote and develop effective incident handling procedures and processes among critical information infrastructure (CII) entities at a national level.
The TTX provided a realistic and immersive environment for participants to test their response capabilities and improve coordination and communication during cyber incidents. By simulating a major cyber-attack, the exercise emphasized the importance of a unified and cohesive approach to incident management, highlighting best practices for detecting, responding to, and mitigating cyber threats.
Seventeen government and CII entities participated in the exercise, contributing to a comprehensive evaluation of current incident handling procedures. Their active involvement and collaboration were crucial in identifying areas for improvement and reinforcing the importance of robust cybersecurity measures.
The success of this exercise underscores the critical need for continuous development and refinement of incident handling protocols to ensure the security and resilience of national infrastructure. Through initiatives like this, TT-CSIRT, OAS, and Protection Group International demonstrate their commitment to enhancing the cybersecurity posture of Trinidad and Tobago.
This exercise marks a significant step forward in the collective efforts to safeguard the nation’s critical information infrastructure against the evolving landscape of cyber threats. The collaboration and dedication of all participating entities are pivotal in building a secure digital environment.
The collaborative effort between TT-CSIRT, OAS, and Protection Group International demonstrated the power of partnerships in strengthening national cybersecurity resilience. By working together, these organizations provided valuable insights and training that will enhance the overall security posture of the participating entities.
This national-level TTX was a significant step forward in developing and refining incident handling procedures. The participation of 17 government and CII entities underscored the commitment to safeguarding critical infrastructure and promoting a secure digital environment for all.
