Trinidad and Tobago and LAC4: Strengthening Our Digital Future

Trinidad and Tobago has taken another important step toward strengthening its national cybersecurity capabilities through the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Homeland Security and the Latin America and Caribbean Cyber Competence Center (LAC4).

The agreement establishes a framework for closer cooperation in key areas including technical collaboration, specialized cybersecurity training, knowledge sharing and engagement with regional and international partners. These efforts are intended to support the country’s ability to address evolving cyber threats while strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure, public institutions, businesses and citizens.

The initiative reflects the increasing importance of sustained cybersecurity capacity building as Trinidad and Tobago continues to expand its reliance on digital technologies and services. By strengthening access to regional expertise, technical resources and professional development opportunities, the partnership will contribute to the advancement of a more coordinated and resilient national cybersecurity ecosystem.

The collaboration is supported by the Ministry of Homeland Security and TT-CSIRT as part of wider efforts to strengthen national cyber resilience through strategic partnerships. Through continued cooperation with LAC4 and other regional and international stakeholders, Trinidad and Tobago is building stronger capabilities to protect its digital environment and respond effectively to the challenges of an evolving cyber threat landscape.
