TT-CSIRT Collaborates in TRADEWINDS 2026 Programme

The Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Security Incident Response Team (TT-CSIRT), under the Ministry of Homeland Security (MHS), collaborated in the TRADEWINDS 2026 Programme, a multinational exercise led by the United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), in coordination with the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), supporting regional efforts to strengthen cybersecurity coordination and incident response capabilities.

TRADEWINDS brings together Caribbean nations and international partners to enhance cooperation in addressing a range of security threats, including cyber incidents.

Strengthening Cybersecurity Collaboration

As part of the programme, TT-CSIRT engaged in cybersecurity-focused activities aimed at improving:

  • Cyber incident response coordination among regional stakeholders
  • Threat intelligence sharing and situational awareness
  • Inter-agency collaboration in managing cyber threats
  • Operational readiness through simulated cyber scenarios

These activities contribute to a more coordinated and effective regional approach to cybersecurity.

Enhancing National Capabilities

Collaboration in TRADEWINDS 2026 supports TT-CSIRT’s ongoing efforts to strengthen national cyber resilience. Through these engagements, the teams are able to:

  • Test and refine incident response processes
  • Strengthen collaboration with regional and international partners
  • Identify areas for improvement in cybersecurity operations
  • Enhance preparedness for emerging cyber threats

Building a Resilient Digital Environment

Cybersecurity remains a critical component of national security. TT-CSIRT’s involvement in initiatives such as TRADEWINDS reinforces Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to maintaining a secure and resilient digital environment through collaboration, capacity building, and continuous improvement.
